Really bad sleep. My roommate’s was much worse. GI issues. No bikes. Had to make a call on securing rental bikes. $1000 for the week. Not much of a choice given there are guys who arrived before us who also still do not have bikes.
Went to event check-in to pick up our credentials and our new rental bikes.
Felt like crap. On a rental bike. No cycling clothes (all in bike box). Supposed to pour rain tomorrow on Day 1. All in all, was not feeling awesome this morning.
But then we cruised to the beach on rental bikes — in the sun — and enjoyed coffee with pastries. Had lunch beside a nice pool on the ocean. Came back to the hotel and shortly thereafter bikes arrived.
Boom. Back in business. Built bikes. Organized gear for tomorrow. On the upswing.
Except for poor Ribs who is still waiting for his MIA bike.
